Abstract

|
Leiomyosarcoma of the uterine cervix is very rare in occurrence and highly malignant. Since Aaro land Dockerty's first report in 1959, there has been only a few articles on this subject. Because of the rarity of cervical leiomyosarcoma, no
standard
criteria has been used in the diagnosis and histopathological classification and no definite recommendation established in management. Variety of therapies has been employed in the management with poor overall prognosis. Further experiences with
a
large
number of cases are necessary for better management and prognosis. We present a case of leiomyosarcoma arising from uterine cervix with a brief review of the literature.
